What to do when you don’t know what to write about on LinkedIn.

Is this a block that hits you, stresses you? Here’s a few thoughts:

πŸ“† 1. Diarise

Make the content creation task a calendar appointment, so that you have time to tackle it in an intentional way.

πŸ“ 2. Prompt Notes

Have a place where you capture “content ideas”. Maybe in a notebook, or Evernote / Notes on your phone. Your moments of creativity will come at you and you want to be sure to remember.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ« 3. Learn

Learn from other posts that resonate with you. Save it, repurpose it, release it.

πŸ” 4. Specificity

Find your Avatar, and tell stories or share information that is relevant to their interests. It’s easier to recommend a car to someone when you know what they are looking for. The brain loves specificity, as it helps you search and look for what is relevant.

πŸ’‘ 5. Share life

When you learn something new, share it. Chances are others will also find your new information of benefit to. How did it impact you? What benefits did it bring? How are you applying it?

πŸ’» 6. Research

Do your own research. You could go on Quora and ask for information on “How to be better at sales calls?” and see what comes up.

πŸ™„ 7. Repeat and Release

Repeat posts that have been successful before. You’ll know from 6 months ago what worked then. You will remember it as a high point but your audience will have changed, not seen it, or forgotten it. Update it, refresh it, release it again.

πŸŽ‡ 8. News

Share something that happened. A piece of feedback, a learning, a lightbulb moment. Others like to see stories brought to life underpinned with real life examples.

Like most things, if it is to work, it needs to become a habit.
